Senior Discounts

save The minimum age for senior discounts varies by establishment. Some are as low as 55 or 60 so be sure to ask. Here are some that I'm personally aware of. Many others can be found at seniordiscounts.com.

Baker's Square - Ask for the senior discount when you order. It will save you 10% if you're 62+.

Carson Pirie Scott - 20% discount on senior days (some merchandise excluded)

Culver's - Ask for a senior discount card. It's free and saves you 10% on any purchase if you're 60+.

Harper College - Many adult continuing education classes are free if you're 65+, there's room in the class and you register 3 days or less before the first class. You must be a resident of the district which includes several Northwest suburban Chicago suburbs.

Kohl's - 15% discount on senior days for those 62+

McDonalds - Order a senior coffee. The cost varies based on where you are. In the Chicagoland area it is generally $.50. Minimum age is unknown.

RTA - Free ride on CTA and Pace buses and METRA commuter rail in the Chicagoland area. You must be 65+ and get a senior reduced fare card. Visit the RTA's web site for more information.

Village Vehicle Stickers - In the Chicagoland area most or all cities and villages require a sticker be purchased annually for each vehicle you own. Some suburbs, mine included, have a reduced rate for seniors. For my suburb it's $1.00 but is limited to one car in the family.
